Not quite as good as the one @ Kalahari but better than you will find at Great Wolf Lodge. Both resorts have huge water parks and other indoor activities. We like all three. . What we usually do @ Kalahari is claim a couple of tables next to the fountain in the lobby and while one of us stays with the family the other runs around to the different food venues to obtain the items we desire to assemble a meal. Likewise the lobby is magnificent! Mind you definitely not Disney level theming or branding but a good job. Mother to 4 wonderful children, wife to one witty, but extremely nerdy husband. Fortunately we only live about 2 hours away. 2.) The fact that Camelback ALSO has the Mountain Resort (skiing, tubing, etc), the outdoor water park (Camelbeach) and its nightime illumination make it unique. Huge rate difference! We have never patronized the restaurant as it does seem expensive. However, if our kids were younger, Great Wolf Lodge would be more manageable due to its smaller size and its mascots that appeal to younger kids. Generally $50 if canceled 8 or more days before arrival. There were a total of 3 TVs one in the Family Room where the pull out bed / couch was, one in the master suite and one in the second bedroom with the two queen sized beds. Both resorts also have bunk bed suites with small alcoves just for the kids. It is really the other aspects of the resorts and accommodations that will determine which resort is the better choice for your family! Kalahari Resort has an African safari theme. Kalahari Resort also has an adult spa and fitness center plus live music entertainment at the steak house and piano bar. Each wing of the resort is 8 floors high and it has 977 rooms in total. Kalahari was the cheapest on Friday evening - but the most expensive during the week & the second most expensive on Saturday evening. The hot tub situation was disappointing. Your encounters with the lack of cleanliness in the room and waterpark was certainly not up to our standards, so I am interested in hearing more about it. We did not have a car on the premises so driving was not an option, and walking was not very appealing since we tend to patronize the indoor water parks during the colder months and it was late November when we were at Aquatopia. I wouldn't pay a dollar to go to camelback. It was, however, small. The room was clean and a good size and the 4 of us had enough room to spread out, with one person taking the full-size, pullout sofa bed. This was our 3rd visit to Kalahari, the 2 previous times we stayed was before March 2017 when the resort was only half way completed. We didn't expect gourmet food at a waterpark, but the nachos were so tasteless that my 12-year old pushed them aside and asked for a chicken finger. On a subsequent trip (after COVID) we also visited Camelbacks Aquatopia. Across from that there is a small decent sized souvenir shop / store and a small dessert kiosk. But, if or when we do return, I look forward to spending more time in that adults-only grotto. The water is warm, but not too hot. They were definitely present - but not blowing their whistle when it was needed and didn't seem as focused. I will say we were on the 7th floor..and it was perfectly quiet. Great Wolf Lodge Poconos Water Park Toddler Play Kalahari has the most toddler slides by far when comparing the three resorts. We were told that the elevator was on the convention center side, which was not really convenient for her.
